1. Always be sure to check out the artists work before hand.

2. Do not be afraid to ask the artist for advice.

3. Always insist on watching the Tattoo Machine being assembled in front of you. That way you know everything is sterile and brand new.

4. Always use a reputable established studio. Anyone can buy Tattoo equipment, NOT everyone can use it competently. A Tattoo is forever, so make it a good one.

5. Beware of the person in the pub who's friend does Tattoos in his bedroom for half price...
